Flirting with Small Talk

A lot of people prefer to keep conversations light and fairly general when they first meet someone.

Some people are like electric ovens and can take a while to warm up. In this state of mind they are less willing to talk about themselves, or at least anything of a personal nature.

The following is advice I give to speed daters on creating small talk.

It would be such a bad tactic to talk about more meaningful issues or get to know them more deeply without establishing trust first.

I know some people find small talk frivolous and even frustrating. My advice is knowing 93% of conversation is body language and how you say things, there is a lot more to enjoy than just the words.

Those butterfly feelings you get when you are attracted to someone sometimes have very little to do with words, or having a so-called meaningful conversation.
