Tips needed

Me. A guy who never had a girlfriend. And why? I really don't know. I hang out with girls and I make up a conversation pretty good. Maybe the issue here, is taking the next step. I can use some advice on that I guess.

Breaking the touch barrier is getting more easy for me. But what do girls (who potentially like me) want me to do?

Let's say I know this girl. Little shy. Great to hang out with and she makes me get chills. Yeah: Boys get chills too (however you spell that?). I was able to get her to watch a movie with me. And she asked me out to a club.

The first step never was a problem for me, but what should I do next? Maybe sit close to her, and see if she likes it? Or touch her casually? Say something like: you have small hands, and take over my hand to hers?

I have ideas, but what do you girls like for a boy to do?

I hope for some good tips for my problem. Especially from girls.

I'm a girl and girls who play sports and are really rowdy like guys who are just like themselves. Band girls usually like emos, quiet guys, and other band people. People like me however, which is sort of sporty but not full on, on the honor roll, having many band friends, and has older sibs who are known for being "cool" have different tastes. We mostly like dorky, smart, science/band geeks(like this tall, kinda emoish smart science, band club eighth grader at my school <3 but he has a girl friend :( but i think they're gonna break up) but sometimes have a taste for guys that are really athletic and smart.

But i am warning you now, if you EVER come across a quiet girl who LOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS reading and constantly has a book in her hands, has constant mood swings and looks like shes going to a funeral ALL OF THE TIME, she probably likes boys who are like vampire goths.

Okay, let's start. First of all, keep in mind the girl's personality. Most girls love obnoxious guys, but keep in mind some girls fall head over heels with the quiet guys that always look down and never talk (I'm a part of this category). To know her type of guy, the best choice is to look at who she hangs around with. She can be loud and obnoxious herself, but with a few guy friends, and this type normally like quiet guys. Girls with little to no guy friends can be at either end of the scale. Girls with many guy friends tend to prefer raunchy boys. If you have already gone to a movie with this girl, trust me, she is aware you're interested, if not, then she has thought about it. Anytime a girl goes to a movie with a boy, she bangs her head against the wall trying to figure out if it is as friends or a date. Well, unless she is really good with reading signals. Try to keep close to her, and be subtle when breaking the touch barrier, enough so she can notice and not be uncomfortable. Good luck, love is hard.

Depending on how friendly you are I would or wouldn't touch her. I'm a girl and I know if I don't like a guy or I'm not good friends with him I wouldn't want him to to touch me, plus that could ruin things for the future if you just want to be "touchy" all the time.
