What do you say to a quiet girl?

Pretend you're in a situation when you like a girl and she probably likes you and you guys get to talking but she is a quiet girl and you just run out of things to say.. what happens next? what else can you say to her?

Being a so-called "quiet girl", I hate it when I'm talking to a guy and they start saying "Your turn." or "What do you want to talk about?" Especially if they know I'm shy. I think the guy should be the initiator and try to make her comfortable. Here are a few things that I think would work:

Say something funny to break awkward silences like "Awkward silence." Then smile or laugh. Or make funny cricket noises. It always makes me smile when someone tells me to stop talking when I'm not actually saying anything. Use these sparingly though, or you'll probably start to make the person feel bad.

Or try just randomly saying "21 Questions!" And start asking random questions like Fave Movie or Band. That will give them the opportunity to ask the same question back, and before long you'll see how alike you are, or even get time in for some playful debates.

Just remember that if you don't have things to say, and no one is talking, then they probably don't know what to say either.
